Sonia
Chopra, Ph.D.
Sonia Chopra received a Ph.D. in Psychology and Law from Simon Fraser University and a Masters in Litigation Science from the University of Kansas. She has over ten years of experience as a trial consultant and has worked on hundreds of civil and criminal cases. She designs, implements and analyzes focus groups and trial simulations and assists attorneys in case analysis, case preparation and jury selection. As a trial consultant she has tackled issues as diverse as wrongful termination, civil rights, capital defense, intellectual property, contract disputes, product liability and personal injury. She has conducted surveys and analyzed the content of pre-trial publicity in venue studies. Her experience includes trials in both the United States and Canada.
A frequent speaker, author and news commentator, she has presented papers on juror comprehension, juror stress, juror attitudes and decision making, and methodological considerations in jury simulation research. She serves on the board of the American Society of trial Consultants, is the Associate Editor of the National Jury Project’s Jurywork: Systematic Techniques, and is a member of the American Psychology and Law Society. |
